All Right, St. Louis has adopted a smoking ban for all restaurants and bars, with only minimum allowances. I am so sick and tired of my legal rights dwindling down, I am fed up. I cannot fathom the reason non-smokers have such a sharp opinion on what we smokers want to do. Everyone knows that smoking is unhealthy, but I made a conscience decision when I began smoking, alert to the fact it was unhealthy. Just because non-smokers want me to cease, won’t mean that it is going to happen. Smoking in pubs has been a privilage, but most restaurants have a special smoking room. If you don’t want to inhale the smoke, don’t eat in the smoking room, you are not coerced to sit in smoking. And as far as the workers of these bars that argue they are affected by second hand smoke, I don’t believe it. I worked in the service industry for over 10 years, and I know that the majority of thefellow workers were smokers. Doing business with the public, always, drives you to puff. Personally, I have never overheard any non-smoking co-worker ever whine about smoking while at work in the smoking room. Putting a smoking restriction in restaurants and bars, ultimately will only save me money, for I will not eat out after the the new year.
